Important Update: Price Adjustments for the MIGHTY+ MEDIC and VOLCANO MEDIC 2

If you’ve been eyeing a MIGHTY+ MEDIC or a VOLCANO MEDIC 2 lately, you might notice a shift in the numbers next time you check the price tag. We wanted to give you a quick, transparent heads-up on exactly what’s changing and, more importantly, why.

Here is the short version: The prices are going up by 10%. But before you get frustrated with the manufacturers, there is a very specific reason for this shift, and it isn't a standard corporate price hike.

The "Why": It’s a Tax Thing, Not a Price Hike

Up until recently, these medically certified vaporizers by Storz & Bickel were supplied GST-free in Australia.

However, following some recent tax-related updates from the Australian Taxation Office (ATO), the MIGHTY+ MEDIC and VOLCANO MEDIC 2 are now subject to the standard Australian Goods and Services Tax (GST) rate of 10%.

Just to be clear: Storz & Bickel and the pharmacy aren't actually pocketing any extra cash here. The base cost of the devices remains the exact same—the 10% adjustment is purely to comply with Australian tax regulations.

What are the new prices?

To reflect the new GST requirements, the Minimum Advertised Price (MAP) for both devices has been adjusted:

• MIGHTY+ MEDIC: $599 AUD

• VOLCANO MEDIC 2: $979 AUD

If you purchase your device through a local pharmacy, you will likely see these updated retail prices take effect soon as pharmacies adjust their systems to account for the tax change.
